Happy Friday Clearwater! ☀️
This week has something for everyone from smooth jazz to salsa and bachata dancing in downtown Clearwater under the stars.
We are also thrilled to share that Ziya has been found and is heading home to Canada safe and sound. Proof that this community looks out for each other. However, we still need your help finding Zena, Leah, Lobo and other missing pets who deserve to come home too.

🐾 ZIYA HAS BEEN FOUND, HOWEVER…

STILL MISSING — ZENA

STILL MISSING — LEAH

STILL MISSING — LOBO
We are so happy to share that Ziya is home safe and heading back to Canada with her dad. She was picked up by a kind family who had no social media. They took her straight to the vet, had her scanned, and waited patiently. Unfortunately, the scanned contact information was not updated. Two days later a coworker spotted our community posts and connected them with her owner. The family who found her loved having her so much they're now getting a Min Pin of their own.
This is exactly why sharing lost pet posts matters. One share found Ziya.
It's also a good reminder to make sure your pet is microchipped, and update the contact info. If the microchip was updated, then the vet would have been able to contact Ziya's family sooner.
If you want an extra layer of protection GPS enabled collars are now widely available and worth the investment for peace of mind.

🌀 Hurricane Preparedness Day - Saturday May 30th - FREE

With hurricane season starting June 1st this is one event worth putting on your calendar. Pinellas County and the City of Clearwater are hosting a free Hurricane Preparedness Day Expo on Saturday May 30th from 10am to 1pm at North Greenwood Recreation Center, 900 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave in Clearwater.
The event is packed with genuinely useful resources: free hurricane kit supplies, evacuation zone lookup, Special Needs Evacuation Program registration, emergency shelter demonstration, disaster legal aid, and a Business Resource Center. Bring your pets for free exams, rabies shots and microchips with a county license purchase. OneBlood will be on site for a blood drive with a $20 gift card for donors. Free hot dogs provided by The Salvation Army. This is exactly the kind of community resource MyClearwaterScoop exists to share.

🏖️ Clearwater Beach Water Temperature - Summer Is Here Early

If you've been waiting for the Gulf to warm up the wait is over. Clearwater Beach water temperatures have reached 81 degrees. Warm, clear, and perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, or just wading in. Historically Gulf temperatures peak around 85-86 degrees in late summer so we're already well into comfortable swimming territory ahead of schedule.
